Best ways to ways to clean copper utensils

The copper tarnishes and turns dark over a period of time. This tarnishing occurs when the copper reacts with the air and a patina develops.
We can clean copper utensils by following methods
  1. Vinegar and Salt
  2. Lemon and Salt 
  3. Baking Soda
  4. Ketchup

1)  Vinegar and Salt
Prepare a solution by mixing white vinegar and table salt and stir until the salt dissolves.
Dampen a sponge or scrubber into the solution and apply it on the affected areas. 
Keep rubbing to remove any tarnishing.
Rinse off and polish up with a clean, soft, dry cloth.

2)  Lemon and Salt

These are easily available in the kitchen. 
  1. Cut two lemons/limes into halves. Add salt to the lemon half.  Rub over the tarnished areas until removed. Rinse off with warm water and polish.
    OR
  2. Squeeze lemon juice from one lemon and add salt to form a paste. Apply the paste to stubborn areas and leave this for at least half an hour and keep scrubbing with a soft cloth. Rinse off with warm water and polish.
3) Baking Soda
Make a baking soda-water solution. 
Just let them soak in the baking soda-water solution for 15-20 minutes. 
The solution cleans the copper utensils.
If you want you can combine baking soda with lemon.

4) Ketchup
ketchup's acidity makes its natural tarnish remover. 
Apply ketchup on the copper surface and let it sit for a few minutes. 
Rub over the tarnished areas until removed. 
Rinse off and dry.
